Gujarat to launch India's very first submarine tourism in Dwarka in 2024
Gujarat is gearing up to transform tourism with the government's ambitious plan to launch India’s first submarine-based tourism service. This special submarine will enable tourists to explore the ancient city of Dwarka thought to be submerged in the Arabian Sea. Each submarine is equipped to accommodate 24 eager explorers. It will take the tourists 100 meters below the ocean’s surface. It is expertly piloted and guided by a proficient crew. Tourists will be able to witness the enchanting marine life while gazing through purpose-built windows that offer an amazing underwater spectacle. The Gujarat government has signed an MoU with Mazgaon Dock shipbuilders. The project holds cultural significance, encompassing the mystique of the revered 'city of Lord Krishna'. With an aim to attract visitors from far and wide, the government plans to launch this initiative before Diwali in October 2024, Saurabh Pardhi, Managing Director of Gujarat Tourism, highlighted the project's uniqueness and its potential to revolutionize tourism in the city. He said that passenger safety will be a priority and assured an unforgettable and secure experience for tourists, aiming to bolster Gujarat's tourism and enrich the traveler's journey to religious sites.
