28 km per day - A New “High” for Highway Building
The Road Transport and Highway ministries are targeting to develop 15000 kms of highway by this year end. And they are well on their way to achieve this! In the month of June, 28 kms per day of highway development took place in our country. Compared to the average of 10-11 kms per day that was undertaken before the present government came to power, this is a great achievement. This target was met on account of a series of measures undertaken by the ministries, such as reviewing and reviving stalled projects, regularly monitoring the ongoing projects as well as maintaining a steady pace of highway building.
