DRDO Scientist Overcomes Odds to Achieve Dream Position
In a remarkable display of determination and resilience, 28-year-old Vanam Rajyalakshmi has shattered barriers and achieved her dream of becoming a scientist at the prestigious Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in Bengaluru. Hailing from Illanda village, Rajyalakshmi faced numerous challenges on her path to success. Growing up in a community that relied on weaving as a profession, she defied societal expectations and pursued her passion for science. Tragedy struck her family at a young age when she lost her mother in a road accident in 2004. Despite the hardships, Rajyalakshmi's father, Sadanandam, a weaver, supported her education and ensured she had the resources to continue her studies. She excelled academically, earning an 'A grade' in Class 10 and catching the attention of her teacher, Srinivas, who recommended her for admission to IIIT-Basara. Rajyalakshmi completed her BTech in Computer Science Engineering and went on to pursue her MTech from Hyderabad Central University (HCU). With her postgraduate studies completed, she set her sights on joining DRDO and worked tirelessly to secure a position as a scientist. Her hard work paid off when she received an appointment letter from DRDO on October 9. She officially joined the organization on October 12, warmly welcomed by the Directorate of Personnel (DoP) authorities. Rajyalakshmi's journey is a testament to the power of determination and the unwavering support of her father. She expressed her gratitude for his encouragement and credited her success to her relentless pursuit of knowledge. Starting as a Scientist B, Rajyalakshmi aspires to advance her career and climb the ranks to become a Scientist C, D, E, and F. Her story serves as an inspiration to all, proving that with determination and perseverance, no mountain is too tall to overcome.
