Bengaluru's Sweet Spectacle: Annual Cake Show Returns with Artistic Splendor
Bengaluru's Annual Cake Show, a beloved event during the festive Christmas season has returned, promising a delightful experience for both cake enthusiasts and connoisseurs. Organized by the Institute of Baking and Cake Art (IBCA) in collaboration with mybakersmart, this event brings together a community of baking aficionados, from seasoned trainers to aspiring students and skilled craftsmen in the world of sugar artistry. Describing their journey, the organizers mention, "Our evolution over the years has allowed us to venture into the realms of innovative fondant, gum-paste, edible lace, food color painting, and mesmerizing edible spray effects." The concept for this event dates back almost five decades when C. Ramachandra from the renowned Nilgiris Family created the first edible masterpiece. This year's theme is a tribute to the joy of childhood, aiming to evoke happiness among all attendees. The meticulous planning commences six months before the show, with the conceptualization of intricate 3D sugar cake structures. Furthermore, the creators pay homage to historical figures, drawing inspiration from their legacies. A highlight of the display is a stunning sugar model replica of the New Parliament House of India, serving as the centerpiece of the artistic narrative. Emphasizing their attention to detail and commitment to lifelike recreations, the creators skillfully shape edible materials into captivating masterpieces. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the event, open until January 1, 2024, from 11 am to 9 pm at St Joseph’s School grounds in Bengaluru. Notably, after the exhibition, the cakes will be recycled to prevent food wastage, adding a thoughtful conclusion to this delectable showcase of creativity and artistry.
