For the couple, the waters turned rough and demanding, but they continued stroke after stroke until they reached the Indian shore after 10 hours and 45 minutes.The swim was undertaken as part of an initiative supported by Manipal Hospitals and was carefully monitored with the help of multiple support boats, paramedics, and coast guards who ensured safety throughout the route.From IT Professionals To Open-Water AthletesInterestingly, both Danish and Vrushali are reportedly IT professionals in their early 30s. While they had previously participated in relay swims in the Indian Ocean, this marked their first major long-distance swim together as a pair.Ahead of the challenge, the duo had also spoken to media in Colombo about the months of preparation, physical training, and mental discipline required for such an attempt.Open-water swimming is considered one of the toughest endurance sports in the world.
