Most eight-year-olds are learning new hobbies. Takshvi Vaghani is making world history. The young skating prodigy from Ahmedabad has earned a place in the Guinness World Records after successfully completing a 10-metre limbo skating run beneath a bar set at an astonishing 16 centimetres—one of the lowest heights ever achieved in the sport. Her remarkable feat demands far more than flexibility. It requires exceptional balance, strength, body control, and nerves of steel, making it one of the most challenging disciplines in roller skating.Four Years of Dedication Behind One Historic MomentIt took only a few seconds for Takshvi to make that record, but it was built on years of relentless practice. "I have been skating since I was four years old. I practice for two hours in the morning and two hours at night," she told ANI.Her daily four-hour training schedule reflects the commitment that has powered her rapid rise. Every session demanded precision, patience, and countless repetitions before she was ready to attempt a Guinness World Record.Takshvi's journey is even more remarkable because she pursued a sport that was virtually unknown in her home state. According to her father, Hernil Vaghani, limbo skating had almost no presence in Gujarat when she began. He said that there were no professional coaches or experts around who had much knowledge about limbo skating.Recognising her interest in skating, her parents encouraged her to explore the sport. By the age of four, she had begun professional training, steadily improving through local and national competitions. Without an established ecosystem to rely on, Takshvi and her family built their own path. Her father credits her success to persistence rather than talent alone. He said that the record was the result of Takshvi's immense hard work, endless practice, and dedication. She kept practicing day in and day out and she smashed one target after anotherDespite already owning a Guinness World Record, Takshvi's ambitions stretch well beyond the skating rink. She said she would continue pursuing skating while also dreaming of joining the Air Force and winning a gold medal for India.
