Know More About This Unique Village Where Humans and Leopards Live Peacefully Together!

Although it may shock you, this is entirely true! One of the few places on earth where leopards and humans live in harmony is Bera Village, popularly known as the Leopard Country.  Bera is a gorgeous piece of land surrounded by the Aravalli Hills and is situated between Udaipur and Jodhpur in central Rajasthan.  The peaceful coexistence of residents and leopards has shocked the world and distinguished this Indian community from others. The Rajasthani desert's iconic views will greet you as soon as you enter the village. The locals are incredibly friendly and welcoming.  These folks are part of the Rebari, a nomadic shepherding group that arrived from Balochistan thousands of years ago and made their home here. This community has a history dating back more than a thousand years with leopards, one of the most feared animals in the world. Bera now is one of the locations with the greatest concentration of big cats in India. However, other than a few livestock, they have never caused harm to any humans. Villagers and leopards get along so well in this area that safari tour companies advertise their packages with catchy phrases like "If you don't see a leopard, you'll get your money back!" They are that confident of spotting a leopard. Author and philanthropist Sundeep Bhutoria first came upon this land during an accidental trip to the region with his close friend and environmentalist Shatrunjay Pratap Singh. Taking advantage of the lockdown, he decided to write about his time in Bera, and the result was the book- The Bera Bond.

World’s First White Tiger Safari In Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh is no doubt, one of India’s most popular wildlife destination with some famous national parks like the Bandhavgarh National park and the Kanha National Park. Now, the Madhya Pradesh wildlife tourism has got a boost with the introduction of the world’s first White Tiger Safari in Mukundpur Forest of Rewa. White tigers are an endangered species and efforts are in place to conserve and protect them. Visitors at the Mukundpur Forest in Rewa can not only enjoy a white tiger safari but also will be able to explore a lesser-known wildlife destination like the Mukundpur Forest in Rewa. The Mukundpur Forest is located at a distance of around 14 km from Rewa city. It is one of the very few places in the country where the extremely rare white tiger species is found. The first of this species of the tiger was spotted in this forest in 1951 by Maharaja Martand Singh. Though Mukundpur forest in Rewa is an offbeat destination, it is all set to be famous, thanks to the introduction of the white tiger safari which will be the star attraction. One can explore many more attractions in Rewa like the Rewa Fort, Govindgarh palace, Royal Museum and Pili Kothi.

Lion safari park to attract tourists

The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani on Tuesday inaugurated a lion safari park at Ambardi village in Gujarat’s Amreli district. He said that the park will help the area to develop into a tourist hub. The park which is spread over 400 hectares of land will have three zoo-bred lions for public viewing in the forest environment. It will help to reduce the tourist load of the existing Gir National Park. The latest census carried out by the state forest department in 2015 revealed that Gujarat is home to 523 Asiatic lions in the Gir forest and other areas in Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Amreli and Bhavnagar districts. The CM believes that the lion safari park will help the area emerge as a tourist hub. He added that the park will attract a large number of visitors as devotees from across the country have been visiting the famous temple of Khodiyar goddess located in the area. He further said that the park will also provide job opportunities to local youth, hotels for accommodating the tourists and promoting the business of hired taxis in the area. The central government approved the project in June this year. Currently, there are three lions along with 250 deer for public viewing in the new park. The forest department aims to increase the number of lions for public viewing to eight, for which permission will be sought from the Central Zoo Authority in future.
