World Champion Mary Kom Grabs Gold at the 23rd President’s Cup
When it comes to clinching gold, there’s no stopping for the six-time world champion, boxer, Mary Kom. Recently she aced it at the 23rd President’s Cup in Indonesia by giving a great fight to Australia’s April Franks. She defeated her opponent with a score of 5-0 in the final one-sided category of 51kg and bagged gold. Gearing Up for Olympics 2020 The 36-year-old boxer took to her Twitter handle and posted a video of herself singing the National Anthem of our country at the event. The Padma Bhushan winner is now all set to represent India at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In May this year, she bagged a gold medal at the Indian Open Boxing Tournament and now we can’t wait to see her perform at the upcoming Olympics event. In the year 2012, she became the first Indian female boxer to win a bronze medal at the 51 kg category at Olympics.
