India’s Defence To Get Stronger As ISRO’s Hypersonic Vehicle Trials Meet With Success
Hypersonic technology is the latest cutting-edge technology that is set to give India’s defence sector a boost as ISRO successfully conducted Hypersonic vehicle trials. The trials were carried out jointly on December 9, by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Headquarters, Integrated Defence Staff. According to a statement released by ISRO, the trials achieved all required parameters and demonstrated hypersonic vehicle capability. It is a matter of great pride that India was ranked the fourth-best military in the world in a study conducted in 2022. To give a further thrust to military power, India has recently started developing hypersonic technologies. This cutting-edge technology is already being used by China, Russia, and the US to develop hypersonic weapons. As part of its mission to create Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicles (HSTDV), India is also creating an indigenous hypersonic cruise missile with dual capabilities. The missile has the ability to fire both conventional and nuclear weapons. HSTDV is a carrier vehicle for hypersonic and long-range cruise missiles and is not a weapon in and of itself. Hypersonic missiles can breach most missile defenses due to their speed and mobility. Since it moves at a very high speed, most radars won't be able to spot it in time to intercept it.
