Maharashtra State ACB Rewards Whistleblowers
A weeklong ‘ Vigilance awareness week’ conducted by State Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) concluded last week with a ceremony to felicitate the citizens who helped to trap the corrupt. Jt CP Shivaji Bodkhe was the chief guest at the programme held in Nagpur. The complainants of corruption cases registered between November 2016 and October this year were honoured with certificates and mementos which were presented to them by Bodkhe and SP, ACB, PR Patil. The motive behind felicitating the whistleblowers is to encourage more citizens to lodge complaints against graft cases which will in turn help to curb the evil practice of corruption. The complainants also took the opportunity to express their opinion and experience regarding the ACB and it's functioning. A cartoon, slogan and picture competition was also held with anti-corruption as the theme whose winners were also awarded at this function. Senior citizens, social workers and activists too were felicitated. Several NGOs and members also were invited to the meeting where several dignitaries, activists and other invitees also expressed their opinions regarding the anti-corruption drives. The ACB had also invited several services providing companies to also remain present at the function.
