In a pioneering step for India’s tourism and food industries, the Telangana government has partnered with Hyderabad-based The Culinary Lounge to launch the nation’s first Culinary and Experiential Tourism Accelerator. The initiative, unveiled at The August Fest, seeks to harness the immense potential of the global culinary tourism market while strengthening the link between food, culture, and economic growth. The proposed trails include Oragallu, reflecting Warangal’s historic identity; the Ramappa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; traditional Telangana snacks like Sakinalu and Sarvapindi; tribal and folk dance forms such as Gussadi and Perni Natyam; and scenic spots like Ananthagiri Hills. By adding a gamified element to tourism, the initiative encourages travelers to explore lesser-known aspects of the state, ensuring a wider distribution of tourism benefits.
