A new initiative in Meerut to enrol kids in school
Education is the constitutional right of every individual. Keeping this in mind the Meerut district administration initiated the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan rath (van) which aims to enroll more children in the age group of 6-14 years in schools. The mission was launched on Tuesday wherein the van will crisscross rural and urban blocks, spreading awareness about the importance of education and convincing people about the need to enroll their children in school to secure a better future for them. Meerut district magistrate Sameer Verma, said that the intent of this mission is to ensure that all kids in the age group of 6-14 years who do not go to school are enrolled. Steps will be taken to make sure that no child stays away from school. The instructions of the basic shiksha department would be followed strictly Assertive and captivating slogans like ‘Ek Bachha Choota, toh Abhiyaan hamara toota’, ‘Aadhi roti khayenge, school zaroor jayenge’, ‘Bachhe mange pyaar do, shiksha ka adhikaar do’ will adorn the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan rath to draw people’s attention. Ayarka Akhauri, chief development officer, said that this van spreading the importance of education will be on the move for 14 days and enlist as many kids as possible in the ongoing drive. Basic shiksha adhikari Satendra Kumar said that the van will go in different parts of the district and spread awareness among people under the guidance of block education officers. Teachers will also go from house to house, informing parents and guardians that their wards will be given free midday meals, school bags and books.
