Maharashtra Village gets Electricity and Public Buses after a Long Wait

The faces of residents of Amdeli village in Maharashtra has been lit up, as their village finally got electricity after a long wait of 70 years. They have been also provided with public transport buses for easy commute. Amdeli is a remote village in Gadchiroli district on the border of Maharashtra and Telangana. Around 200 people reside in this village which is surrounded by a forest. People of this village speak Telugu. It is located in Sironcha taluka, which is around 220 km from the district headquarters. This village was devoid of electricity and transport facility for a long time. Till a few days back, there was no electricity or transport facility in the village. District guardian minister Raje Ambrishrao Atram took the matter in his hands to provide these basic facilities. He made a provision of Rs 45 lakh fund in the District Planning Council for the village. With his efforts, the officials of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (MSEDCL) and Public Works Department (PWD) then started the work and finally, the small village got the electricity connection.  The two facilities in the village were inaugurated by the MLA who reached Amdeli by traveling in a state transport (ST) bus and performed a puja of the electric distribution point (DP) before the village got illuminated.
