The 133rd outreach program by ISRO, this course is designed for final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as technical and scientific staff from government institutions and researchers. It requires applicants to have a basic understanding of remote sensing, GIS fundamentals, and computer programming. The course focuses on utilizing freely available satellite imagery and geospatial data to address challenges in environmental management, disaster response, climate change, and natural resource management. It covers various topics including GIS overview, Python programming, raster and vector data processing, and the use of open-source geospatial data processing libraries. Scheduled to take place from January 15 to 19, 2024, the course will be conducted online. Participants will need to have the appropriate hardware and a stable internet connection.
