Google's New AI Model Gemini Surpasses ChatGPT in Most Tests
Google has introduced Gemini, a groundbreaking artificial intelligence model that claims superiority over ChatGPT in numerous tests, showcasing advanced reasoning skills. This revolutionary model was unveiled recently post the global AI safety summit. Consisting of three versions, Gemini's prowess lies in its "multimodal" capabilities, enabling seamless comprehension across text, audio, images, video, and computer code simultaneously. Google’s Gemini surpasses existing AI models, notably outperforming GPT-4 in 30 out of 32 benchmark tests, including reasoning and image understanding, and GPT-3.5 in six out of eight trials. The Bard upgrade will be integrated into Google’s products, such as the Bard Chatbot. However, it faces regulatory hurdles in the UK and Europe, necessitating clearance before its release. . DeepMind's CEO, Demis Hassabis, describes Gemini as their most intricate and ambitious project. Gemini's smaller versions, Pro and Nano, are set for release alongside Ultra, the most powerful iteration, which will undergo extensive external testing and red team assessments for safety and security, aligning with Joe Biden’s executive order. However, challenges persist, notably in combating "hallucinations," or false answers. This has prompted ongoing research efforts signaling Google's commitment to ensuring the model's reliability and safety, setting a precedent for responsible AI advancement.
