Urdu Heritage Festival Starts From Today
For the first time ever, The Urdu Heritage Festival will take place in the Walled City. The festival is said to start today and will have several performances. The event is a six-day festival which will be held at the Central Park in Connaught Place. The event which is a collaboration of Delhi’s department of art, culture and languages with the Urdu Academy to celebrate the language’s connection with Delhi and its intangible legacy. Above 50 artists will be seen performing at the event. Well known Urdu poets, Sufi and qawwali singers will showcase their talents and mesmerize the crowd. One will not only witness cultural events but the festival is said to have book exhibitions, mushairas, calligraphic displays, food stalls, ghazal renditions and literary competitions.
