Happiness Centres To Come Up In Mumbai

Mumbaikars are always on the move and lead busy lives. As a respite for them, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has proposed to set up ‘happiness centres’ called ‘Swatantra Anand Kaksha’ at three locations in the city. Open spaces in the city will be developed to set up these centres which will include facilities such as a picnic spot, amphitheatre, playground, recreational space, parking space, eateries, etc. The happiness centres will provide the much needed relaxation for people and will be easily accessible to them as they will be set up within the city. It has been planned on the lines of a Madhya Pradesh government initiative, which had in 2016 set up a ‘department of happiness.
