Food trucks to pacify hunger pangs
The new airport road in Viman Nagar, Pune is swarming with people as the food trucks parked there offer a wide variety of delectable dishes to food lovers. It was opened on July 28 by The Food Truck Association and currently has eight food trucks, each having a different fare to offer. The food truck park has come as a great solace for youngsters who earlier had to travel long distances to get good quality food at reasonable rates. Subham Kar Chaudhari, the founder and President of The Food Truck Association said that this initiative was undertaken with the aim of providing ‘food on a budget’. Proper hygiene is maintained while preparing food and it is priced reasonably. People looking for a good meal within a budget will find food trucks as an ideal solution. Chaudhari added that the eight food trucks serve different food ranging from egg preparations, dishes with cheese as the main ingredient, sandwiches, desserts and milkshakes, rolls, kebabs and biryanis and Mexican food. Earlier the food trucks conducted business in residential or college areas but started facing problems from residents as well as police. Now, that they have a space dedicated to them, it has helped increase footfall due to which these food truck owners are doing good business.
