Flytbase Bags The 9th Open Innovation Contest By NTT Data In Tokyo
Flytbase, a platform created for easy deployment of intelligent drones bagged the top innovation prize at the grand finale of NTT Data Open Innovation Contest 9.0 in Tokyo last month. The company makes drones which are absolutely autonomous and are connected with cloud-based business applications. It uses the technology, the Internet of Drones derived from the Internet of Things in order to make the drones capable of emergency response, managing a warehouse, automate inspections, and so on. 401 startups from 18 countries participated in the global contest out of which 91 were from India. However, 11 of them could make it to the regional finale. For the first time, NTT Data included Indian startups in the competition. They collaborated with The Indus Entrepreneurs Pune to come across startups with class apart objectives. While talking about their big win, the head business development at Flytbase, Achal Negi told Hindustan Times: “After winning the regional round held in Pune earlier this year, we pitched our company alongside the other regional winners from across the world.” He further added, the global contest also emphasized on social innovation, healthcare, and life sciences, finance, and insurance, automotive and Internet of Things. Therefore, they are proud to bag the grand champion title and stand out amid so many categories. Brands like CISCO, Intel and FLYPULSE are some of Flytbase’s trusted partners and customers. The commercial drone software company was founded by Nitin Gupta, an IIT Bombay alumni while Dhiraj Dhule is the Director of Strategic Projects and Sharvashish Das is the Director of Engineering.
