In my house, my mother roasts flax seeds and stores it in a container mixed with fennel seeds or ‘Saunf’. After lunch or dinner, as it is every Indian household trend to eat Saunf, I get an extra benefit because of the flax seeds I eat along with Saunf. About an ounce of flax seeds contains Omeg-3, 8 grams of fibre, 6 grams of protein, 31% Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) of Vitamin B1 and 35% RDA of Manganese. In addition to above-enlisted nutrients, it also has potassium, copper, selenium, vitamin B6, phosphorus, iron and zinc.
