Osmania University alumni to adopt hundred villages
The Osmania University Alumni Association which has around 25,000 members comprising of engineers, businessmen, doctors, advocates and other professionals have decided to adopt 100 villages in the erstwhile Telangana districts and ensure all-round development. With the help of district collectors, they will identify the problems faced by these villages and take up activities accordingly. Osmania University Centenary Celebrations Alumni Committee chairman Anantula Shyam Mohan said that the state government has been promoting village adoption scheme for the overall development of the state and already public representatives, officials, celebrities and other important personalities have decided to adopt backward villages in the state and develop them. The Osmanians have also decided to be part of the programme to serve the state. Shyam Mohan said that a high level expert committee will be formed involving expert members such as doctors, engineers and businessmen to interact with officials and zero in on issues pertaining to the specific village and solve them. These efforts will help to improve the infrastructure of villages and help in the all round development of the state . Osmania University vice-chancellor Ramachandram agreed to host a Global Alumni meet on the campus on December 23 this year.
