"Dream, Dream, Dream! Conduct these dreams into thoughts, and then transform them into action."

Doing their bit for the safety of the citizens is what police officials is known for. But a look at the Dahisar Police station and you may find that they are also doing their bit for the environment. The cops have surely set an example by converting the biodegradable waste generated in the police canteen into compost.
After the head constable of the police station over heard the conversation in seminar about environmental class, it left him curious. Bajaj Jagtap then discussed this with the senior inspector and after the nod from the seniors the police station also took the initiative in making the compost.
After getting help from Eco-Rox NGO for setting up the project now the police officials are taking equal interest in the project and there are few cops who have learnt the method of composting. The police also took help from Civi body’s solid waste management department. As the cops call it waste to wealth, the police were readily interested in learning the method and practicing it regularly.
This is surely one of the best examples where police themselves have come forward for the environment and also would prove as a motivation for others.
It is a good initiative that the waste generated is reused and and used as fertilizers for the plants.
The officials spreads dry leaves evenly inside the compost box and adds the bacterial culture provided by the NGO followed by cow dung, which forms the base layer of the compost. The officials are now planning to increase their production by adding more boxes in their premises.
