In a bid to provide education to everyone and to increase the education in the underprivileged section, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has now announced few new schemes. These schemes will make sure that there are fewer dropouts in the school and all the students from underprivileged section receive their bit of education.
It is usually followed that students will special need are dropped out from the schools. To encourage the right to education for the students having special needs, BMC has started new scheme wherein the parents and the students will be give Rs 10 per day to attend schools. There are around 850 students in civic schools while 4,095 students with special needs studying in other schools will be viable under this scheme.
Apart from this scheme, other schemes like fixed deposits for girl students under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ project, toy libraries for Balwadis and introduction of mini-science centers will other schemes which will be brought back by the BMC.
Under the project ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao,’ BMC is also planning to spread awareness about education for girl child. For more and more students to take up education in civic schools, now distribution of materials like uniform, shoes, and socks among other will be done on the first day of the school.
