Prasiddhi Singh's journey as an environmentalist began at the tender age of 7, when a devastating cyclone disrupted her hometown in Tamil Nadu, stripping the neighborhood of its green cover. Witnessing the destruction, Prasiddhi who hails from the Chengalpattu district in Tamil Nadu, realized the importance of trees in preventing such disasters and decided to take action. She started planting trees and soon founded the Prasiddhi Forest Foundation to spread her message and involve others in her mission.

The Prasiddhi Forest Foundation

The Prasiddhi Forest Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to promote sustainability and environmental awareness among people of all ages. The foundation's core principle is the "3G Network," which stands for 'Generate' one's own oxygen, 'Grow' one's own food, and 'Gift' one's effort to their community. Through this initiative, Prasiddhi and her team organize classes, workshops, and events to educate people about the importance of environmental conservation.

Prasiddhi's Amazing Achievements

Prasiddhi is a young girl who has done many great things to help the environment. Even though she is still very young, she has already made a big difference. She has planted more than 150,000 trees all by herself. This helps keep the earth green and healthy. Prasiddhi has actively contributed to the revival of mangroves and lakes—vital natural habitats that safeguard wildlife. This has also helped reduce the risk of flooding and helped preserve the ecological balance. 

She has spoken at big events like TEDx and the United Nations Climate Change Summit (COP 28 and 29). She talks about how we can all help fight climate change. When she was only 8 years old, she won the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, which is the highest award for children in India.

Prasiddhi's work has inspired thousands of people, particularly in her home state of Tamil Nadu. Her concept of "fruit forests" has been especially successful, where biodiverse, edible landscapes are created in community areas, schools, and offices. These forests not only provide ecological solutions but also serve as social infrastructure, bringing people together and promoting community engagement.
