This is the tale of an Indian community in Rajasthan that plants 111 trees whenever a girl is born. This Indian village's tale is like a breath of fresh air. Piplantri is leading by example in the Rajsamand district of southern Rajasthan by simultaneously preserving girl children and increasing the amount of greenery.
How did it start off?
According to the former sarpanch of the village, Shyam Sundar Paliwal, who was instrumental in launching this project in honor of his daughter Kiran, who passed away a few years ago, 60 girls are typically born here each year. When she was 18 years old, she passed away from dehydration.Shyam has made it a mission to surround the community in greenery so that there is never a water scarcity. #Trees4Earth was pioneered by social activist and former Piplantri village sarpanch Shyam Sunder Paliwal.
The effort is addressing afforestation and the empowerment of girls as key societal issues. Since they have been doing it for 15 years, the hamlet has seen an increase in its greenery. The locals can better comprehend and value the value of both girls and trees thanks to this particular form of ecofeminism. Because of this, simply planting the seedlings is insufficient. The family is required to take care of the trees much like they would their daughters.
We can come up with amazing and remarkable answers to the world's contemporary problems when we see the relationship between social concerns and turn to their environmental roots. This lovely custom not only cultivates a profound respect for women in the community, but it also fosters a tremendous sense of environmental responsibility!
