With her unwavering passion for space exploration and dedication to scientific pursuits, she has soared to remarkable heights in the field of aerospace.
Ritu's journey began with a thirst for knowledge, which led her to pursue an MSc in Physics from Lucknow University and an ME in Aerospace Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru. From an early age, she nurtured her curiosity by collecting news articles on space activities by organizations like ISRO and NASA, foreshadowing her future as a space pioneer.
In 1997, Ritu Karidhal Srivastava joined the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Her brilliance and commitment were evident from the start, contributing significantly to prestigious missions and handling crucial roles as the operations director for various projects.
Notably, she played a pivotal role as the Deputy Director of the Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan), which brought India global acclaim for becoming the first country to reach Mars in its maiden attempt. Ritu's brilliance was further recognized as she assumed the responsibility of Mission Director for Chandrayaan-2, another ambitious lunar exploration venture.
