The Venkateshwara Service Station on Old Madras Road will serve free food to anyone who comes there to refuel.
They go with the tagline ‘U fill Ur Tank! V Fill Ur Tummy!’ This idea is launched in association with the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). The mission behind this noble initiative is first-of-its-kind in the country, to help Bengalureans to take care of their health who constantly skip their meals due to work. Such skips are unhealthy and to ensure their proper health, the petrol pump will provide free breakfast, meals and snacks both vegetarian and non-vegetarian to all who come there to refuel. They said that no matter how late or short of time a person is, he or she will definitely stop by to refuel his or her vehicle. They will provide food to their customers at this time. The packing would be done in less than five minutes.
They said further that the food will be prepared in a centralized kitchen elsewhere. The prepared food will be stored at the petrol pump and will be heated and served. Professional chefs will be involved in making the food. For bakery products, they have tied up with ISKCON.
For those who don’t want to refuel their vehicle can still get the food in a prescribed amount. The free food will go until a month and later on will be chargeable.
