Mylapore city is rightfully called the soul of Chennai and its people are proud of its culture, heritage and tradition which will all be showcased in the most popular Mylapore Festival that commences on January 4th and will continue till 7th January.
It will include 40 events comprising of heritage walks, competitions, cultural performances, art workshops, Kolam competition and concerts performed by children. There will be food walks that will explore the old and popular food joints in Mylapore. Many people are enthusiastically waiting to participate in traditional games such as dayakattam and pallankuzhi.
The Mylapore Festival was initially conceived to recreate the atmosphere from village festivals within the confines of the city and over the years it has gained popularity attracting a large number of visitors.
