The world is at a crossroads when it comes to sustainability. The way we live our lives and use resources has a direct impact on the environment. It's no secret that our dependence on fossil fuels is a major contributor to climate change. But what if there was a solution? What if we could reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and still enjoy the freedom of driving? Manojit Mondal, a resident of Katjuridanga, Bankura, has found a way.
Manojit is a businessman by profession, but he's also a visionary. He's converted a nano car into a solar car, which doesn't require any petrol and doesn't run on an engine. This remarkable car is now a mechanical icon of Bankura. The running cost of the car is shockingly low, running 100 kilometers for just Rs. 30 to 35. It's a game-changer.
As the price of petrol and diesel continues to rise, Manojit's solar car provides a solution that is sustainable and affordable. The car costs just 80 paisa per kilometer to run. But it's not just the cost that's impressive. The car is almost silent when started and can run at a speed of 80 km per hour in fourth gear.
Manojit faced many challenges while converting the car, but he didn't give up. He wanted to make something new since childhood, and he's done just that. While the government hasn't recognized his efforts yet, Manojit Mondal has shown us that the future is bright if we're willing to innovate and think outside the box.
