‘Kala Vishwa 2k17’, the fourth edition of the state-level competition and exhibition jointly organized by Shivsphurti Pratisthan and Chitraleela Niketan Kala Mahavidyalay was held yesterday at Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery, in Pune and will conclude on April 23.
This year's theme is 'Fusion Art'. More than 200 artworks- paintings, drawings, photographs, installations, crafts, murals etc. from all over Maharashtra will be exhibited at the festival. There were more than 350 artists who participated in the competitions which began in the last week of January. The competition was divided into three categories — art students, freelancers and professionals. It carried a prize money of Rs 75,000.
Kala Vishwa 2k17 was inaugurated in a unique way. A competition for 200 students was held on Wednesday. Pradnyesh Molak, secretary, Shivsphurti Patishthan said that there would also be a live ART JAM of 15 professional artists at the venue. The event also includes seminar on ‘Career Scope in Arts’ and ‘Poetry Slam’ which will be held on Saturday evening.
Actor Suyash Tilak, Mayor Mukta Tilak, Joint Commissioner Dnyaneshwar Molak and Chairman of CNKM Umesh Gupte have been invited as chief guests on the concluding day, Sunday, April 23.
