Vayve Mobility, a Pune-based startup, unveiled India’s first solar-powered electric car, named ‘Eva’, at Auto Expo 2023. Eva is completely powered by solar energy, enabling it to reach up to 250 kilometers on a single charge. The car is equipped with a 14kWh battery that can be charged with either solar panels or through a regular electric outlet.
The design of Eva is sleek and modern, with a lightweight build that makes it suitable for city driving. The car’s solar panels are integrated into the roof, making them nearly invisible and giving the car a sleek and streamlined look. Additionally, Eva has a variety of features, such as a rearview camera, a touchscreen infotainment system, and automatic emergency braking.
Eva will be priced competitively and is designed to fit two adults and a child. It has a liquid-cooled pmsm motor, producing 6kw of power. Additionally, the 14kWh battery pack can be fully charged in 45 minutes with a rapid charge on CCS2. It is built on a monocoque chassis and is safe with an airbag for the driver and an IP-68-certified powertrain.
Vayve Mobility’s Eva is an exciting development for the Indian market, offering an affordable and eco-friendly option for reducing carbon emissions. The company plans to make the car available to customers by the end of the year and it is expected to hit Indian roads in 2024.
