A bus shelter made of plastic bottles emerged as a noteworthy creativity in the Andhra Pradesh district of Tirupati's Renigunta Mandal. This environmentally friendly building has won praise for its economical and ecological design.
It is commonly acknowledged that plastic trash has detrimental consequences on human health and the environment. To address this, representatives from the Renigunta Mandal of the Thookivakam Gram Panchayat in Tirupati District introduced an innovative solution.

Every day, thousands of tourists and traders visit Tukivakam hamlet, which is located on the Tirupati-Chennai route. However, locals were forced to wait on the side of the road, exposed to inclement weather, because there was no bus shelter.
This presented challenges for the elderly and those with health conditions. After observing the hardships of the locals, panchayat authorities gathered plastic bottles, tires, foils, and worthless trash equipment. They took the help of Village Sarpanch Muni Shekhar Reddy.
The bottles were retrieved from the Gram Panchayat's waste collection. The plastic bottles are supported by this debris, which gives the building strength.

Building a bus shelter usually costs between Rs 1 and Rs 5 lakh, with more robust models costing up to Rs 50 lakh. On the other hand, this creative shelter was constructed in 10 days for just Rs 10–11 thousand using more than 2,000 plastic bottles.
The shelter, which has been tastefully decorated with flowers and green grass with the assistance of the villagers, has become popular among travelers. One traveler said, "I've never seen a bus shelter like this." “Offering shelter from the sun and rain is a fantastic idea, demonstrating the potential of waste transformation.”
Locals, who were initially dubious, now commend the shelter's advantages. Tourists have expressed satisfaction with this co-friendly bus stop. In an effort to further promote sustainability, officials are getting ready to open two more shelters in the area, encouraged by the success.
