There's no better way than quenching our thirst from the cool matkas in summer and now, we have eco-friendly, modern updates of the traditional water-cooling matkas which also serves PM Modi's 'Make in India' objective.
Staying cool and hydrated is a must as temperatures are soaring in our country. Clay product manufacturer Mitticool has introduced the clay water bottle which keeps water cool. The eco-friendly terracotta clay bottle is made from a special mixture of clay which also adds a unique flavour to the water.
The bottles are made of 100 % clay and are easy to clean and refill. The earthen pot made of clay, called matka have been in use in India since ancient times and occupies an important place in the homes of people of every class.
Traditionally, two types of clay are combined to make the matka- one that is found on the earth's surface and the other procured from beneath the earth. It takes about eight days to make the product as the mud clay must first be mixed with water, shaped, finished, polished, dried and baked in a kiln before it’s complete.
Storing water in clay bottles is a far better option than storing in plastic which may contain toxic chemicals. These bottles are made from Mud clay which in its pure form is a 100% natural raw material and scientists claim that storing water in a clay water pot is very beneficial as it not only cools the water, but also provides healing with the elements of earth.
