The artist, who is inspiring women around, is always searching for new experiences and adventures, even at the age of seventy-nine. Kamala's inspiring unstoppability:
Following her immigration to the United States, Kamala abandoned her dream of being an artist in order to provide for her family and pursue a traditional profession. But in her 60s, Kamala returned to painting and picked up the skill of applying mehendis, which she now does professionally. After that, she became interested in trying hiking and ziplining in Costa Rica in her mid-60s, and in her 70s, she learned to swim. Many women worldwide, including her daughter Preethi, were inspired by Kamala's zest for life. Her daughter Preethi Chandrasekhar left a highly sought-after position at Google to follow an entirely other career path as an entrepreneur in search of a change of pace. She is terrified and unsure of what may happen, making it frightening and unpredictable. But the question remains, "What next?" Fearing that the future would be unpredictable, she searched for a catalyst. That's when she thought about her mother, who continues to pursue her aspirations in spite of her advanced age. When it comes to acquiring new abilities or seeking an exhilarating experience, Kamala, Chandrasekhar's mother, is constantly game. Her mother abandoned her goal to get a master's degree in fine arts (painting) after immigrating to the US from India. To provide for her family, she had to find employment. Years later, upon her retirement in her 60s, she also began trekking. Despite her doubts about her endurance, she went on and completed the task. She was seventy-nine and really wanted to learn to swim. She didn't hesitate to do it again, and this time she succeeded in swimming in the ocean for the very first time!
Redefinig Aging ~
Age is merely a number! Your appearance and how you feel defy your age! We've heard these sayings countless times, and believe us, they hold truth. This is largely thanks to medical advancements and the resilient spirit of the baby boomer generation. We wholeheartedly embrace the idea of redefining aging with our optimistic perspectives. Retirement isn't just a phase; it's an opportunity to unlock your full potential. When you cultivate a mindset where anything is achievable regardless of age, societal norms lose their power to limit you. Your goals for the next chapter of life—do they involve spiritual growth?Launch a new company or line of work? Boost your wellbeing and health, or provide a hand? Whatever you decide to do, retirement is the perfect time to do it all!
Positive aging is the practice of keeping a positive attitude on life, being physically and mentally well, feeling good about oneself, and living life to the fullest as one ages. It's a mindset that insists that one can live life to the fullest at any age and that age is only a number. This method acknowledges the impact that our attitude and thought patterns have on our mental and physical health as we age. Adopting unfavorable thoughts about aging perpetuated by a number of cultural beliefs and social conventions may raise the risk of poor health and despair. By encouraging individuals to accept growing older, highlighting the good elements of aging, and reiterating that age is only a number, positive aging aims to counteract this negativity.
The Power of Having A Positive Mindset ~
We start to age the moment we are born. It is unavoidable. However, becoming older does not make one invisible. Although we cannot stop the aging process, we do have control over how we age. "Your age is merely an illusion." This viewpoint is flawed in that it is confrontational , as if growing older is your fault. But as it happens, the person who first used this phrase could have been onto something! The thing is, age is a relative term! You can maintain your youth with an active, healthy lifestyle and a happy outlook!
Defying All Social Norms ~
One will come to the realization that age is only a number when they are involved in things that they enjoy since they will continue to have an optimistic outlook on life. The opportunities for older folks are endless: they may volunteer at their favorite organizations, travel the world, pick up new languages, and much more!
Additionally, elderly adults have more time to engage in their hobbies, such as knitting, cooking, painting, and drawing. They will experience excitement and a feeling of purpose when they engage in these activities and achieve positive results, which will help them accept growing older.
The Moral of Kamala's Story: Pursue your happiness & Maintain Heathly Lifestyle ~

By eating a well-rounded, well-balanced diet, older folks may embrace their aging process and enhance their general health. Consuming meals high in zinc and vitamin B, such as fruits, omega-3 fatty acids, and seafood, can help prevent depression. Cutting back on starchy carbohydrates can also be beneficial. While some elderly people may like smoking cigarettes and having a few alcoholic beverages, they should understand that these activities are bad for their health and might worsen their mood, particularly if done frequently.
“Aging is not an option, not for anyone. It is how gracefully we handle the process and how lucky we are, as the process handles us.” – Cindy McDonal
