An IPS officer has developed an award-winning model that has helped lakhs of people in Naxal-affected areas avail of government schemes. And the man who has helped make this possible is former Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police (SP) Ankit Goyal. After two years at Gadchiroli, Goyal is currently serving as SP, Pune (rural). The model focuses on building trust and credibility with the local community and involves the involvement of local leaders and stakeholders in the implementation process.
One of the key components of the model is the establishment of "Mitanin" committees, which comprises local women who act as intermediaries between the government and the community. These committees help to disseminate information about government schemes and also provide feedback to the government on the needs and concerns of the community.
Another aspect of the model is the use of technology, such as mobile apps and web portals, to streamline the process of accessing government schemes. This has helped to reduce corruption and improve the efficiency of the delivery of services.
The impact of this model has been significant, with lakhs of people in Naxal-affected areas now able to access government schemes that were previously out of reach. This has had a positive impact on the quality of life in these areas and has also helped to build trust and goodwill between the government and the local community.
Ankit Goyal's award-winning model has proved to be a valuable tool in addressing the challenges faced by Naxal-affected areas and has helped to bring much-needed development and progress to these areas.
