A student of Engineering from district Latur has led a team of young innovators that won a prestigious National Award.
Pratik Bhosale is studying in KCG Collage of Technology, Chennai in third year of Computer Engineering . He is from village Matola, taluka Ausa, in Latur district of Maharashtra. He was team leader of group of student innovators, which participated and won national prize of Rs 100,000 and the Citation. Their project was on ‘Water and soil pollution, observations and solutions,’ under ‘Smart India Hackathon 2017’ held last week on national level.
The Tamil Nadu center of Ministry of Environment and Forest was at Sri Krishna Collage of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore.
‘Smart India Hackathon 2017’ was conducted by Ministry of Environment and Forest, and Ministry of Human Resource Development , as also various departments if government.
The Hackathon was focused on 598 problems of social importance. These have been identified by the 29 ministries and departments of government. From all over India, 7531 teams having about 42,000 students responded with submitting their projects. This session went on for 36 hours continuously.
On Saturday, PM Narendra Modi addressed these participating teams on live link. He said, “You will get more happiness from this exercise as it will help poor and may become part of government policy.” The PM further said while addressing country’s biggest gathering of young innovators,“ India has been hub of knowledge. We invented zero. We have travelled from zero to Mars; we have travelled from Upanishads to Upgrah.”
