Hyderabad is all set to host India’s largest photography festival. It will be held in the city from 21st September to 8th October.
The Indian Photography Festival (IPF) 2017 will take place at the State Gallery of Art in Hyderabad. It provides a platform for professional and aspiring photographers as well as the photography lovers. It also acts as a medium to address social issues.
Aquin Mathews, Festival Director of the IPF informed that the festival is in its third year and is organised in associationn with Government of Telangana and Telangana Tourism.
The festival comprises exhibitions, artist talks, screenings, workshops, portfolio reviews and photo walks. 525 photographers from 40 countries will participate in the festival and showcase their work.
Renowned international photographers like National Geographic photographer Reza Deghati; Photographer from Magnum Photos, an international photographic cooperative Stuart Franklin , war documentary photographer covering social issues in conflict areas, Andrea Bruce are among the several other participants.
B.Venkatesham - IAS, Secretary to Government of Telangana Youth Advancement, Tourism & Culture Department said that the city is happy to host the festival for the third time. It is a matter of pride for the city of Hyderabad to host a festival in such sheer size that is attracting world famous photographers to the city.
