Gukesh D of India become the world's second-youngest Chess Grand Master overall in the history of sports. He is just 12 years, 7 months and 17 days old and become the country's youngest Chess Grand Master.
Coming from Tamil Nadu, he breaks the earlier record of India’s Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa from the same state. all thanks to the state who have always given Chess Champions to our country. The five times world champion Vishwanath Anand also belongs to the same state.
To win this title was not easy, Gukesh has travelled a long way and has not only worked hard but has achieved his goals too. As to win a title of Grand Master in Chess, a player has to achieve 3 Grand Master norms in events covering a minimum of 27 games.
India sparkles with gems like Vishwanath Anand, Vidit Gujrathi, Padmini Rout, Pentala Harikrishnan, Harika Dronavalli, Koneru Humpy, little stars Rameshbabu and now Gukesh too. No doubt India has always given outstanding and brilliant players to the world.
