Noida based resident Anoop Khanna was worried at his mother’s dwindling appetite. Due to old age, his mother wouldn’t eat much food. His constant concern led him to decide to donate food in his mother’s name to people who really need it.
He began cooking food in a mobile kiosk which he named ‘ Dadi ki Rasoi’ and offered them to the needy for a meagre sum of Rs 5. What more, he would cook wholesome delicious meals in desi ghee. It is no wonder then, that people began to queue up at his kiosk. Initially, Anoop Khanna took assistance from friends, but when demand for the meals increased, he hired full-time people who would assist him in setting up and distribution.
It is commendable that Anoop Khanna takes lots of effort to change the items of the menu so that he doesn’t end up serving the same food every day. He tries to bring new delicacies on the menu. He even incorporates fruits and sweets which shows his sincerity, dedication and love for the needy.
Seeing his inspiring initiative for the less privileged members of the society, many people come to Anoop Khanna and donate food, condiments and other things they think are suitable. Khanna also started offering clothes at just Rs 10 to the destitute.
Through his amazing good work, Anoop Khanna inspires us to be selfless and to know the joys of charity.
