Consider a period when you were completely immersed in the moment. What were your capabilities? What were your characteristics? When you were free, how did you see yourself? I say to you let honesty be the medicine for these quests of life.
“Your Actions Will Seek You Out”- Father Gabriele Amorth
When you are honest with yourself, you accept your shortcomings and purpose towards your life. People's opinions of you can become less relevant if you have adequate self-awareness. You may become more brave as you realize that the world and the opinions of people cannot bring you down. If someone tells you that you can't achieve something you know you can do, your morale will likely remain unaffected, allowing you to proceed courageously towards your goals. That’s the thing about honesty is that you feel a sense of fearless behavior within yourself.
Creation of Self-Perception:
We seek for positive public opinion because we have begun to believe that we are what others perceive us to be. We strive to conceal our truth from the outside world because we fear it would disqualify us from the 'in-crowd.' When you are truthful with yourself, you begin to own your reality and stop hiding behind public opinion. The life you were attempting to hide from everyone begins to feel attractive.
Being truthful to yourself may make life simpler, less complicated, and far more beautiful. You grow less reliant on others and more reliant on yourself. You begin to love yourself, flaws and all, and this is the tipping moment towards contentment and inner peace.
