The freshness of homegrown vegetables is different from the ones you buy from the market. Sowing the seed just to see it grow makes the soul happy but, in today’s world, most of them don’t have the time for gardening. However, getting indulged in the things which give you utmost happiness is a great way to revive. Many people like the concept of growing vegetables but, might not be aware of the procedures. And to make it convenient for them, Helping Hearts NGO is doing something commendable.

The members of the NGO are making the most of a vacant land in KNG Pudur and forming a plant nursery out of it. The objective behind it is to promote farming. From ladies finger to tomatoes to pumpkins, more than ten vegetables will be grown in the nursery.

Saplings will be distributed among people that are needed to be planted in a grow bag. They must water it for 45 days in order to grow vegetables. The grow bags will be available at the Tamil Nadu Agriculture University and also at the forest department. The vegetable seedlings will be given to the people for free.

On talking about their initiative, the founder and managing trustee of Helping Hearts, M. Ganesh told TOI, “We started cleaning the vacant land on Monday, the Earth Day, and plan to distribute the saplings to public from June 5, the World Environment Day. We would sow seeds and maintain hundreds of saplings at the site.”

This initiative by Helping Hands will result in many benefits and urge several people to opt for farming and grow their own food.
