In a heartwarming display of generosity, FedEx has brought holiday joy to military families across America through its annual Trees for Troops program. This year, the freight company delivered an astounding 300,000 Christmas trees to families stationed at over 90 military bases nationwide.
Teaming up with the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation, FedEx reached a significant milestone during a special celebration at Fort Liberty in North Carolina, marking the delivery of the 300,000th tree. The Trees for Troops program, which began in 2005, aims to provide farm-grown Christmas trees to both domestic and international U.S. military bases.
Lance Moll, President and CEO of FedEx Freight, expressed the company's unwavering commitment to supporting Trees for Troops, emphasizing the deep connection between their mission and the values held dear by military families. Throughout their 18-year partnership, FedEx drivers have covered an impressive 600,000 miles to ensure the delivery of these festive trees.
Wendy Richardson, Chair of the Christmas Spirit Foundation Board of Trustees, reflected on the program's humble beginnings and its growth over the years. She expressed gratitude for the dedication and hard work of all those involved and the joy they bring to military personnel and their families.
While the deadline for tree donations has passed, interested individuals can still contribute online or consider participating next year. The Trees for Troops website provides information on how to donate and a list of participating locations.
FedEx's commitment to spreading holiday cheer to military families serves as a reminder of the generosity and gratitude that define the holiday season.
