The university, coming up at Bholaguri in Gohpur, Biswanath district, will be built at a cost of ₹415 crore and is envisioned as a catalyst for innovation, employment, and sustainable development across the region. The project signifies more than just the creation of a new institution; it represents the dawn of a new era for Assam’s youth, one that bridges traditional education with futuristic skills. Spread across 241 acres with a built-up area of 7 lakh square feet, the campus will house academic blocks, hostels, residential quarters, and state-of-the-art facilities designed to nurture both intellect and innovation.

The university is named after Swahid Kanaklata Barua, one of Assam’s bravest freedom fighters, who laid down her life during India’s independence movement. Naming the institution after her is both symbolic and significant, representing courage, empowerment, and the spirit of youth leadership.
