Animal activists are constantly working towards making the world free of animal cruelty. From posters to banners to rallies, a lot of initiatives are taken to spread awareness but, has there been a reduction in the rate of animal abuse cases? Are our strays sleeping in peace on the sidewalks every day? Maybe the laws are getting implemented but, we still need to work a lot to save innocent souls from abuse and torture. Recently Chandigarh Tamil Sangam organized a dance event which depicted the theme, prevention of animal cruelty.
The organizers of Chandigarh Tamil Sangam come up with an inter-cultural programme every year called Chithirai festival. And this time artists from Sunaina group, Delhi generated awareness about animal abuse through their performances. The dancers performed Bharatnatyam recitals and captivated the audience with their rhythmic moves.
Local artists were a part of the event too as they presented Bhangra, Kathak and even Rajasthani dance forms. Dancers from Tamil Nadu also left the audience in awe with performances such as the bull and the peacock dance.
It feels great to see the dance fraternity contributing to spread awareness about animal cruelty as it shows that animal activists are not the only ones who are in this fight.
