This is a touching story of how neighbours and other residents of a town helped a bright young girl to continue her studies and pursue her IIT dream after she had to put a stop to her education due to financial crunch.
Kajal Jha, 17 had to quit her studies after class XII although she had secured 95 percent marks. Her poor financial condition restricted her from pursuing her IIT dream. The family was so depressed that they even contemplated suicide. That is when people of Indirapuram in Ghaziabad came together to help her.
Neighbours shared their sorrow and counselled them. They collected Rs 20,000 through crowdfunding and enrolled Kajal in a coaching centre. They are even managing the cost of her studies. If that was not enough, they managed to get a job for her father, who now works as a supervisor to supplement the family's income.
Around 40 people of Indirapuram are contributing their savings and raising funds through social media sites to help the family. Kajal's elder brother, who is in the first semester of IIT also received help and was assured that his fees will also be paid. Apart from this, a few organizations are trying hard to get their mortgaged house free.
Kajal said that since her school days, a lot of money was spent on health care as her father, brother and grandparents remained affected by health problems. Due to this the financial condition of the family had deteriorated. Kajal is very grateful for all the help that her family received from the good Samaritans.
