Today, we bring you the story of Ashwini Joglekar, a Mumbai based social entrepreneur who left a promising career as a software product manager to pursue her passion for empowering craftsmen. It takes immense courage to leave behind a stable job and pursue a passion that is close to one's heart. But Ashwini was determined to make a difference in the lives of skilled artisans who were struggling to make ends meet. Her encounters with craftsmen during her travels gave her a new purpose in life, and she started her venture, Craftribute, in March 2016.

Ashwini's belief that handicrafts are not just expensive pieces of art meant for the rich but can be used in everyday life is truly inspiring. Her endeavor to create markets for handicrafts through awareness, appreciation, and respect for human genius is commendable. Craftribute's focus on making handicrafts accessible through responsible gifting choices has also made it easier for people to appreciate the talent and hard work that goes into making these unique pieces of art.

Today, Craftribute is working with over 20 master artisans from 10 states of India and connecting them with around 100 craftsmen who specialize in 15 different craft techniques. Ashwini's commitment to making handicrafts sustainable has helped these artisans to pass on their traditions to the next generation with pride and joy.

Speaking to The Brighter World, Ashwini stated that people can make a difference in the lives of these immensely talented artisans by owning at least one handicraft item in their everyday life. Working with these talented artisans who practice their craft as a prayer has been the real achievement for Ashwini. Her dedication to empowering these skilled craftsmen is a testament to her passion and commitment to making a difference in the world.
