In a dazzling ceremony at Jaipur’s majestic Amer Fort, Rajasthan officially unveiled the branding for the upcoming Khelo India University Games 2025 (KIUG 2025). The event marked the unveiling of the official logo, mascots, torch, jerseys, and anthem, symbolizing the state’s readiness to host one of India’s largest university sports celebrations.
The launch brought together leaders from the sports fraternity and the government, setting the stage for a dynamic fusion of youth, athletic excellence, and cultural pride. The backdrop of Amer Fort, with its regal charm, perfectly reflected the spirit of the Games, honoring India’s traditions while embracing modern aspirations.
The logo captures the essence of Rajasthan, showcasing its architectural marvels like the Hawa Mahal and Ranthambore Fort, along with motifs of sand dunes and windmills. It reflects a balance between tradition and progress, resilience and renewal.
The mascots, Khamma and Ghani, are inspired by Rajasthan’s state animal, the camel, and the region’s traditional greeting, “Khamma Ghani.” Their bright colors and cheerful energy embody the state’s warmth, hospitality, and welcoming spirit, setting the tone for the Games’ inclusive and festive atmosphere.
The Khelo India University Games 2025 will be held from 24 November to 5 December 2025, spanning seven cities across Rajasthan—Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Bharatpur, and Bikaner.
For the first time, Rajasthan will host the event, bringing together more than 7,000 athletes from nearly 200 universities across India. The Games will feature 24 disciplines, including new additions like canoeing, kayaking, cycling, and beach volleyball, expanding the scope of competition and encouraging participation in emerging sports.
The Games promise to be more than a sporting event; they will be a cultural celebration. The torch design, inspired by Rajasthan’s forts and desert landscapes, symbolizes the eternal flame of youth and perseverance. The official jerseys and anthem have been crafted to reflect unity, national pride, and the spirit of excellence.
By integrating the grandeur of Rajasthan’s heritage with the energy of India’s youth, KIUG 2025 aims to create an experience that celebrates both culture and competition. Athletes will compete in 24 medal events along with one demonstration sport. Leading universities, including the University of Rajasthan and Poornima University, will serve as key venues, benefitting from upgraded sports infrastructure that will continue to support athletes long after the Games conclude.
The Khelo India University Games have become a crucial platform for nurturing India’s future sports champions. By hosting the 2025 edition, Rajasthan not only boosts its own sports ecosystem but also showcases India’s growing commitment to empowering student-athletes.
Events like KIUG 2025 ensure that talent from every corner of the country gets an opportunity to shine. Behind the vibrant mascots and colorful logos lies a larger mission—to build athletes, create opportunities, and inspire a generation to chase excellence both on and off the field.
