They say cycling is one of the best exercises and what if you get a chance to do something eco-friendly while riding on a cycle? Former Air Force Captain, Shashishekhar Pathak knew how to make the most out of natural resources and that’s when he made a cycle from bamboo grown in his own land. He then founded Bamboochi, a company which sells customized and handcrafted bamboo bicycles.
The eco-friendly cycles are striking, light-weighted, comfortable to ride on and are extremely strong. The frames of the cycles are joined with carbon fiber or hemp and weigh around 1.7kgs or more than that and overall the bicycles weigh lighter than aluminum or steel frames.
Bamboochi gives a warranty of three years on their cycles and they say the bicycles can stay intact for 10 to 15 years.
Our environment can benefit largely if natural resources are used in the right ways. We hope people get inspired by Shashishekar and come with something which can be advantageous for the environment.
