Indian strongman Vispy Kharadi has redefined strength and resilience, proving that genetics are no barrier to greatness. The 42-year-old from Surat, Gujarat, made history by breaking the world record for the longest Hercules Pillar hold (male)—a feat that left the world in awe.
Holding onto two steel pillars weighing 166.7 kg and 168.9 kg, measuring 123 inches in height and 20.5 inches in diameter, Kharadi stood firm for 2 minutes and 10.75 seconds, crushing the previous record of 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Taking to Instagram after his record-breaking performance, Kharadi addressed a long-standing stereotype:
"People used to say Indians are weak because of our genetics. But I have proven them wrong!"
He emphasized that Indian strength is on par with the best in the world and that determination, training, and resilience triumph over genetics.
The previous record-holder had accomplished the feat using wooden pillars, whereas Kharadi’s pillars were made of pure steel, making his achievement even more remarkable. He acknowledged his predecessor’s effort but knew he could push beyond—and he did!
"The Hercules hold is something most people wouldn't even attempt. I respect the previous record holder, but I knew I could go beyond. And I did."
Kharadi’s jaw-dropping feat was shared by Guinness World Records on social media, quickly going viral. Among those who took notice? Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who reposted the video on X!
Beyond this recent world record, Vispy Kharadi is a force to be reckoned with. His X bio speaks volumes about his achievements:
-13-time Guinness World Record holder
-Multiple black belt holder in martial arts
-Trainer for Border Security Force (BSF) commandos in unarmed combat
With his firm determination and unmatched strength, Kharadi is not just breaking records—he’s smashing stereotypes and inspiring a generation.
Kharadi ended his powerful message with a statement that resonates with every dreamer:
"This isn't just my victory. This is proof that Indians are not genetically inferior. Our strength matches the best in the world. When an Indian sets his mind to something, they achieve it!"
And with this incredible feat, Vispy Kharadi has undoubtedly cemented his place among the strongest in history!
