Mumbai's Asalpha village located in the eastern suburb of Ghatkopar has it's very first art gallery on the walls of the little huts.
A non-profit organization, Chal Rang De coloured the old walls 120 old houses of the village into beautiful paintings and artistic portraits.
To change the perspective of the people and the concept of urban slums is the aim of Chal Rang De. This initiative made Asalpha the first slum to experience a colourful transformation.
This transformation was done in three days with over 400 people taking part to paint this slum. This NGO plans to colour maximum slums in Mumbai in the future to change perspectives of the slums.
